I’m forever grateful for a job that gives me the opportunity to reconnect with people from my past! I knew Jake in high school and we even acted in a couple school plays together. So, when I heard from his wife Cassie and how they wanted to schedule a maternity shoot with me, I was so excited to get the chance to catch up and meet his beautiful wife and adorable son! Lincoln (which is also my nephew’s name) is a wild one, he kept us on our toes, especially since this shoot was in downtown Phoenix right near a couple streets and some train tracks. And the older my nephew gets, the more I’m seeing that these two Lincoln’s are going to be pretty similar in their adventurous, ever moving, ways!

And how could I forget the craziest part of this shoot?! While I was taking some photos of Cassie and her beautiful bump on her own, she felt a pinch in her finger and realized it was a bee! During our session, a bee just came up and stung her! So rude of that bee. And possibly rude of me to ask her to stay still so that I could capture a belly shot of the bee hanging out on her skirt after it stung her and after I tried to help, obviously. I felt horrible that this happened during our shoot, but since it already happened, I was determined to make the most of it! And Cassie was so graceful through it all as we carried on with the shoot, after we got the stinger out. Even though that bee tried to ruin our shoot (maybe, I’m not really sure what bees are thinking) we were able to create some magic, but how could we not with this beautiful, kind and thoughtful family?!
