Can you believe I’ve had both of Emma’s older sisters in front of my camera for their senior photos too?! Olivia’s session was over 6 years ago and Anna’s senior session (that Emma was there for) was just a couple of years ago. Plus, I’ve had the opportunity to capture this whole family on a few occasions as well! They are just about the kindest and most generous people you will ever meet!
Our history together is probably why Emma trusted me when I asked her to meet me in the back alley of an empty parking lot. It started with a vision. I always ask my clients what kind of atmosphere they’re looking for and give suggestions from there. Emma wanted some photos with a more causal, urban look and also some red rock, desert photos.
I told Emma I had never shot in this alley before but that it fit her vision, which she shared with me through some photos. She didn’t question it and we both think it paid off! Who would have thought photos of a senior girl sitting on black asphalt would be some of my favorites?! I have a feeling it’s not really the location but rather the fact that Emma is a complete natural in front of the camera! And she brought that effortlessness all the way from the back alley to Papago Park, where she changed into the most adorable dress!
She’s heading to Ole Miss next year, the same school her sisters and mom went to! I’m wishing her all the happiness in this new journey and I’m so excited for her! She is all kinds of beautiful, from the inside out! And I love everything about this session!
