Sam | Portraits

I took a very long break from photography simply because of the heat. If I lived anywhere else but Phoenix, I might not have needed to take such a long break. But when it is 115 degrees outside, not only do I not want to be taking pictures, I don’t think people want pictures of them with sweat dripping down their faces either. Haha. I say all that to say, I am back at it! About a month ago, when it is still very hot yet, I did my first photo shoot after the 3 month break and it was also my first photo shoot with my NEW CAMERA! I bought a Canon 5D Mark II and I am LOVING it! The pictures are so much clearer and better quality! I thought about deleting all my old pictures from this blog that are from my far less impressive camera, but I decided against it! After all, it’s fun to look back and see how you’ve grown in your art, even if it means being embarrassed by my photos when I first started. I am thankful for each and every photo shoot because they have taught me more about this creative art and therefore I am able to push myself to grow! :)

Well, my first photo shoot with my new camera was for one of my good friends, Sam! I have known Sam for 5 years now! We met in Master’s Commission, the discipleship training program I did after high school, and we have kept in touch! Sam is a musical artist! He sings, plays guitar and even helps teach me how to play a little! ;) He has been a great friend to me and I was so excited to be able to take some pictures pictures of him! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot! And look out for him, he’ll be doing some amazing things with his music in the near future! :)
