Wisdom Wednesday | Ch. 8

I don’t think I agree with this quote 100%. I agree that PART of the meaning of life is to find your gift and that PART of the purpose of life is to give it away. But I don’t believe those things are the SOLE meaning and purpose of life, I think there is SO much than that! :) Even with that said, it’s obvious that Shakespeare was a wise man. What good is it to find your gift and your talents if you’re not sharing them with others? Are we really so self involved that we think we are on this earth for ourselves? That the gifts and talents that we’ve been blessed with are simply for our own enjoyment? I think that would be a waste of such a beautiful thing!

One of my dreams is to win the lottery… haha, that’s a dream we all have, right? But one of the reasons I would LOVE to win the lottery is so that I could have enough money for me and my (future) children to live comfortably for the rest of our lives, that way I could do photography for FREE! I would LOVE to do photography just for the pure JOY that I get from taking photos and not as a means of living. But since I can’t do that right now, I’ll do what I can. And that’s share with others! Whether it’s sharing the LITTLE knowledge that I do have about photography or sharing techniques that I’ve learned or giving discounted or free sessions to people who are going through a hard time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying quit your job, work for free and be homeless! We have to make money to live… I get it. But we don’t have to be SELFISH with what we’ve been given. Help others without expecting something in return, share what you know, give freely! Live a life of PURPOSE!
