I think we sometimes think that the more we do each day, the more fulfilling our life is. For some reason we have the mindset that the busier you are, the more successful you must be, because only people who stay busy could ever be successful. However, I don’t think that’s true. Some days are meant for exploring and adventures and taking risks, but some days are meant for relaxing and recharging and being still. And that’s okay. There’s no shame in finding contentment in living a calm life. There’s nothing wrong with discovering joy through stillness. We have to stop glamorizing a “busy” life… there’s nothing glamorous about not having enough for yourself, or for your hobbies, or to discover new things about yourself, or to spend quality time with your loved ones. There’s nothing beautiful about working until your emotionally exhausted or investing all your time into be successful that you forget to just be human. In stillness there is peace and there is hope. Living a calm life doesn’t mean you’ve given up, sometimes it means you have enough strength to put yourself before your career or put your mental, emotional and spiritual stability over your desire to look like you’re living an accomplished life. It’s okay to be still… it’s okay to live a calm life.
